Blue Mountains Private Day Tour
Experience the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Blue Mountains on a fully private day tour from Sydney.
Beyond the city, sandstone escarpments fall into vast eucalyptus valleys layered in shifting light. Waterfalls spill from cliff edges, forest trails wind through ancient bushland, and distant ridgelines dissolve into the region’s distinctive blue haze.
Designed as a more personal alternative to large group tours, the day is flexible and unhurried — guided at your pace.
From the Three Sisters at Echo Point to quieter vantage points far from the main viewing platforms, the experience moves at your rhythm.
A More Personal Approach
The day is discussed in advance and shaped around what matters most to you.
Pace varies naturally — scenic lookouts, relaxed bushwalks or more demanding hikes — depending on your interests.
Greg’s understanding of ecology, geology, wildlife and Indigenous history is woven naturally throughout. Professional photography is included.
The result is thoughtful, well paced and genuinely personal.
A Landscape Shaped by Time
The Blue Mountains World Heritage Area protects 1.03 million hectares of sandstone plateau, deep gorges and eucalyptus forest. The region’s blue haze is created by fine eucalyptus oil droplets scattering light across the valleys.
This is a landscape shaped over 250 million years — sculpted cliffs, hanging swamps and vast escarpments layered in shifting light.
Iconic Vantage Points
Many of the most dramatic viewpoints require little or no walking, making the region ideal for relaxed sightseeing.
• Echo Point — views of the Three Sisters and Mt Solitary
• Govetts Leap — panoramas across the Grose Valley and Bridal Veil Falls
• Wentworth Falls — sweeping escarpments and valley outlooks
• Boars Head & Cahill’s Lookout — Narrowneck Range and Megalong Valley
• Evans & Anvil Lookouts — quieter perspectives across the Grose Valley
Forest Trails & Ridge Walks
Walking options are tailored to your fitness level and interests.
Gentle bushland trails of around 45 minutes lead to rewarding escarpment views. Longer routes explore hanging swamps, sandstone formations and deeper valleys. For experienced hikers, more demanding trails of up to three hours reach remote cliff lines and dramatic ridgelines, including Fortress Ridge.
Walking is always optional. The day can focus entirely on scenic highlights and village stops if preferred.
Mountain Villages & Heritage
• Leura Village — mountain cafés and small boutiques
• Carrington Hotel, Katoomba — a grand 1880s hotel, ideal for afternoon tea
Further Experiences
• Scenic World — steep railway descent and rainforest boardwalk
• Sydney Zoo (Eastern Creek) — koalas and native wildlife (en route)
• Glow Worm Tunnel — bioluminescent glow worms inside a historic railway tunnel
• Zig Zag Railway — heritage steam train (selected operating days)
Note: Lincoln Rock is temporarily closed until 30 April 2026. Alternative lookouts with equally impressive views will be included.
